The Beginning

Where Four Kitchens
Share One Table

The Arvin” was born from a simple conviction: that the four great culinary directions of India — the street-born spice of the West, the saffron-scented grandeur of the North, the mustard-inflected poetry of the East, and the coconut-kissed coastal soul of the South — each deserve to be celebrated with full fidelity.

Our kitchen brings together chefs trained in their native traditions, so every dish carries the memory and mastery of its origin. No approximations. No fusion. Pure heritage.

What began as a modest dining room in 2018 has grown into a beloved institution — a place where families gather for Sunday thalis, where expatriates find the taste of home, and where curious diners discover the extraordinary depth of India's regional cuisines.

What We Believe

Our Philosophy

No Fusion, Only Fidelity

We never blend traditions for novelty. Each dish is prepared exactly as it would be in its region of origin — with the same techniques, the same ingredients, the same reverence.

Ingredients Tell the Story

From Kashmiri saffron to Bengal mustard oil, from Tamil curry leaves to Awadhi kevda — we source with intention so every plate speaks its native dialect.

Culture Beyond the Plate

Dining here is an immersion. Carnatic evenings, Rabindra Sangeet nights, and seasonal harvest celebrations weave the full tapestry of Indian heritage into your experience.

Through the Years

Our Journey

From a bold vision in 2018 to Kolkata's most celebrated pan-Indian dining destination — every chapter written with conviction and care.

2018

A Vision Takes Root

Chef Suresh Krishnamurthy opens The Arvin in Kolkata with a radical idea: four regional kitchens under one roof, each led by a native expert.

2019

The Four Kitchens

2024
